Akio, an HR worker, visits his transformed mother Fukue in Tokyo. Baffled by her new lively self, he encounters a friendly neighbor. Through these interactions, Akio gains new perspectives, noticing overlooked aspects of life.

Factory owner Nobumasa Tsuboi learns his daughter Yoshimi has only 10 years to live due to heart disease. Unwilling to accept this fate, he and wife Yoko begin studying artificial hearts despite lacking medical background.
