Maritta Marke, born Asta Margit Svensson, was a Swedish stage and screen actress, and singer. She made her stage debut in the operetta "Lyckoflickan" in 1927. Her first film was in Gustaf Edgren's "Trötte Teodor" (1931).

When Kerstin Norback is shot and gravely wounded by her lover, the trial causes a public scandal, forcing her to move to Stockholm under an assumed name. There she befriends a group of women and attempts to rebuild her life.

The tenants in a Swedish boarding house are expecting a visit from Don Carlos, a famous opera singer from Argentina. When an unexpected visitor turns up, he is mistaken for Don Carlos.
