Callie Bussell

In 1944 German-occupied France, Jewish-American fighter pilot Captain David Holden is ambushed behind enemy lines. He must rescue a captured B-17 crew, evade a ruthless enemy, and stop a plot to alter WWII's outcome.

It follows Kathy, a food critic in New York City. Her parents ask her to come home for Christmas, and there she meets a handsome police officer, which now complicates her situation.
