Madhu, a mathematician, becomes depressed after the unexpected deaths of his girlfriend and father. However, when he tries to commit suicide, his look-alike takes him to an unnamed exoplanet.

Amravathi is a naive girl who runs away from home. She finds shelter in a kind-hearted man's house where she is well taken care of. Her life takes a turn when Arjun falls in love with her.

After her father's sudden death, Mahalakshmi is left to clear his debts and face the harsh villagers. A taxi driver helps her cremate her father and pledges his taxi to earn her a temporary reprieve.

Vijay, a carefree and frolicsome youth, is sent by his father Deenadayalan in Ooty to work and becoming a responsible businessman. There, he falls in love with the college student Anjali. Her brothers are dangerous criminals and they are against their love because Vijay's father is a police officer. Thereafter, Devaraj is sent to jail so his brother appoints the lawyer Karnaa who is disabled and a sensitive person. Later, Karnaa falls in love with the school teacher Amudha, after few quarrels between both. One day, Deenadayalan saw Karnaa at the court who looks like his son Vijay. In the past, he had twin boys, but abandoned one of the twin baby because he was disabled. Karnaa is upset when he knew the truth and is now determined to win the case in front of his father.

When Devi regains consciousness after being in a coma for long, her friends from college come together to get her back with her lover Babu, who is in prison. As they go about the task, each one revisits his/her life, which was hugely influenced by their time in college in the 1980s.
