Barkeeper Frank, semi-formally called "Herr Lehmann", is part of a lethargic West Berlin-microcosm. His lifestyle is disturbed when his parents show up for a visit, things go awry with his girlfriend and his best friend acts strange.

In 1943 Berlin, a Nazi officer's wife meets and starts a passionate affair with a Jewish woman.
