The filming of Nosferatu: A Symphony of Horror (1922) is hampered by the fact that its star Max Schreck is taking the role of a vampire far more seriously than seems humanly possible.

A fragile young woman, who has tried to escape the dark past of her family, is forced to return to her family's estate. She must relive her previous traumas and confront the true source of her family's guilt.

Single mother Elaine is disturbed by her son Martin's aggressive behaviour, she visits his late father's estranged family in small-town Luxembourg, which hides a much darker nature.
